You might be eligible to get ESPN unlimited for free: Everything you need to know about ESPN's new streaming service
By: Entertainment Posted On: August 27, 2025 View:

ESPN's newly revamped streaming service, which launched last week, combines all of the existing channels and streaming platforms under the ESPN umbrella in one place. This streamlined service means subscribers can get access to all of ESPN's linear networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNews and ESPN Deportes, plus access to programming on ABC, ESPN+, ESPN3, SECN+ and ACCNX. This new service, known as ESPN unlimited, costs $29.99/month (or $299.99/year) if you sign up now, but if that seems a little steep, there are actually quite a few places that are offering the service for "free" — that is, for no additional charge above and beyond the existing service. you may already be paying for. There's a decent chance you might be eligible (or even enrolled) already!

Quick Overview

So far, the biggest partners are Spectrum, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and DirecTV (streaming, not satellite). ESPN's website gives a quick overview and relevant links as to how existing subscribers to those services can link their accounts to fully access ESPN's updated service on a variety of devices. Just keep in mind two important points. First, more providers are likely to ink a deal with ESPN in the future. And second, remember that most existing cable TV providers and some other live TV streamers — such as Sling and YouTube TV — already offer most ESPN channels through their existing apps, depending upon which tier you subscribe to.

Not already a subscriber to those services and curious about seeing how the ESPN integration works? We've pulled together some of the best deals on those services so you can double-dip and add ESPN unlimited for free. Here's what you need to know.

Get ESPN unlimited (and Disney+ and Hulu!) free with DirecTV

DirecTV is currently offering subscribers who also use their Gemini device a totally free subscription to the Disney+, Hulu and ESPN bundle. Any DirecTV Signature pack subscriber with Gemini will see the bundle added to their subscription starting around Sept. 1. At that point, existing customers will receive the Disney+, Hulu and ESPN bundle, and once it’s added, you simply need to activate it.

And if you don't have or want a Gemini device, you can still access ESPN unlimited for free with any DirecTV Signature pack — it just won't include Hulu and Disney+.

DirecTV has a great deal for subscribers who use a Gemini device with their plan — right now, all DIRECTV Signature Pack customers with a Gemini device will get Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited included in their subscription at no additional cost. DirecTV packages start at $49.99 for your first month, and $85/month after.

The new Disney+, Hulu, ESPN bundle is currently available for a promotional rate of $29.99/month for a limited time, and will eventually cost $35.99/month after the promotional rate expires, so this offer through DirecTV provides considerable savings.

DirecTV's Gemini streaming device connects viewers to 4K HD DirecTV programming and loads of streaming apps, including Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, Netflix, Max, Prime Video and more — all from within the DirecTV platform. Gemini devices cost around $10/month on top of your DirecTV Signature package subscription.
