Year-to-date, ChatGPT's app has been downloaded an estimated 410.8 million times globally.
The number far outpaces the estimated downloads of other AI apps, according to data the mobile app analytics platform shared with BI.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said ChatGPT had 800 million active weekly users when speaking at the company's DevDay conference on Monday. That's more than 10% of the world population, Harvard, Duke, and OpenAI researchers concluded in a recent paper.
The platform processed over 2.5 billion messages a day as of July, the paper added, equivalent to 29,000 messages per second.
