Just two teams remain in the NHL playoffs as the Carolina Hurricanes and Vegas Golden Knights will meet in the 2026 Stanley Cup Final. Both teams rolled through the conference finals, but there should be more fireworks in the final.

After going 12-1 in the first three rounds, the Hurricanes are in their first Stanley Cup Final since 2006, when they won the first championship in franchise history. Defense was the calling card for both teams in the regular season and throughout the playoffs, but that hasn't been the case in the Final.

Vegas and Carolina have combined for 33 goals through the first four games, which is the most since 1981, when the New York Islanders and Minnesota North Stars were hanging enormous numbers on the scoreboard.

The Golden Knights, fresh off sweeping the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Final, went into Raleigh and forced a split. Then the Hurricanes returned the favor in Games 3 and 4, and they'll bring home-ice advantage back to the Lenovo Center for Game 5 on Thursday night.

In his first season with the Golden Knights, Mitch Marner has had an enormous impact, and he's kept that up in the Final. After a notching another point in Game 4, Marner is up to a franchise record 29 points, which is nine more than the next closest player in the postseason.
